Here is an excerpt from, what appears to be, an internal document from the National Rivers Authority, sounding the alarm about harmful river contamination resulting from Danielson's redevelopment works, with a warning not to publicise the findings:
"...detections of heavy industrial toxins including hexavalent chromium, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and carcinogenic dioxins measured at unprecedented levels in the Sunco River watershed samples. Rerouting waterways underneath demolished sites has led to unprecedented leaching into the local supply.
Bioaccumulation of said compounds is projected to manifest severe public health emergencies if left unchecked. Occurrences of degenerative conditions, up to and includin,g blindness, neurological impairments, and increased cancer cluster proliferation within a 5-10 year timeline unless remediated.
Recommend emergency personnel protective gear for any contact with contaminated zones.
FINDINGS MUST NOT BE PUBLISHED OR DISCLOSED TO OUTER PARTIES AT THIS JUNCTION."
This alarming internal memo appears to have been uncovered years later, through a Freedom of Information Act request, revealing the National Rivers Authority had advance knowledge about the public health hazards posed by Danielson's redevelopment practices. Despite the scientifically backed projections of looming medical crises like cancer and blindness, the agency seems to have been explicitly instructed to bury the report from the public.
